About me

Column group

I am Tòfol Cabeza Cáceres and since 2004 I have been dedicated to translating and QCing audiovisual texts: subtitles, dubbing-lip sync scripts, accessibility (subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio description for the blind) and texts from the publishing industry, such as fiction and non-fiction books, museum catalogues and monographs. Apart from that, I also translate administrative texts, tourism texts, web pages, technical text, software, user interfaces, etc. adapting to their characteristics and needs.

I'm a restless person and I thrive in change, so I have also been in the Academia (where I still teach some classes in the Official Master in Audiovisual Translation at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and in 2017 I co-founded Detroit Llibres, a cultural bookshop in Alcoi, a project I combined with translation until 2020. This gave me a more profound insight into both the Spanish and the Catalan publishing industry, so I decided to explore that translation field as well.

I am currently part of the Netflix DTT Catalan translation programme, and I am an approved linguist for À Punt Media, the Valencian public television.

In the PROJECTS section, you can learn more about the titles I have translated. You can also consult my professional profiles on LinkedIn and Proz.
